To all who may concern,
This morning, together with other Italian dojos, I sent my resignation from my position as the Shihan-dai for Italy for the IBK.
As a sign of respect, I sent my e-mail only to Mr. Kuipers and Mr. Saint, because I thought it would be better to keep private my motivations.
But, as a results of some e-mails I’ve received, I think I must explain my motivations.
Mr, Kuipers says that I am not loyal to the IBK, so, let’s see what I did for the IBK since 2006.At the time I was sandan in Judo and Daido-Juku, nidan in Kyokushinkai and Shotokan Karate, shodan in Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu and Shito-ryu Karate and purple belt in BJJ.
You can also see my resume on my web-site, so you can understand that I never took the decision to join the IBK just to collect dans.
This is what I did in these years:
1) 8 affiliated dojos in 4 years,
2) 3 national tournaments, 4 regional tournaments,
3) I’ve developed the Kanji “Kyokushin Budokai”, now proudly displaied on the jacket of Mr. Kuipers and on the official web-site, the emblem for the belts and the new belts for the group. I’ve always paid everything by my own, just to try to give a more professional look to IBK.
4) I’ve invited several times Mr. Kuipers and I’ve organized the first seminar of Mr. Bluming in Italy for teaching here (and now Mr. Bluming writes that he was his intention to expel me since a lot, maybI wonder why he did not tell it directly to me during the seminar),
5) I did the 50 kumite test for my Go-dan, while a lot of people were (and still are) promoted without doing nothing or at least having trained in any form of karate,
6) despite what Mr. Kuipers thinks and wrote to me, I had never the intention to switch organization.
I was contacted by members of the IKO1, Shinkyokushin, IKO Sosai and Daido-Juku to join their organizations, but I always told them that my loyalty was to Mr. Bluming and to the IBK.
So, if this is a lack of loyalty, I do not know what’s exactly the meaning of being loyal to an organization.
Best regards,
Andrea Stoppa
